Sharon Pratt

Home Preservation Exchange (HPE) is a nonprofit organized for the purpose of right-sizing the housing market and stabilizing neighborhoods by promoting nonprofit/for profit partnerships and together leveraging private capital to acquire nonperforming loans (NPL’s) and bank-owned homes (REO’s). The HPE model is attractive because it is sustainable and scalable; it relies on private capital to acquire assets and nonprofits to convert assets into preserving home ownership or creating home ownership for new low/moderate income individuals.

A Howard University and Howard University Law School honors graduate, Ms. Pratt is one of a handful of women with the experience of running a major government enterprise; first African American woman elected mayor of a major American city (Washington, DC); first woman elected an officer of the Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco); the first woman elected Treasurer of the National Democratic Party (DNC) and founder of Pratt Consulting.

Over the last 3 years, Ms. Pratt has successfully forged capital partnerships allowing HPE to acquire approximately $18M in assets (NPL’s).

Ms. Pratt serves as a Panelist/Speaker for HUD (Housing Urban Development) forums and Webinars.
